I was just checking my email inbox and discovered a note from “Patricia”. It seems she is stuck overseas. She and her her unnamed partner took off on an unexpected and unannounced trip. No one knows she left you see. Now her wallet and all her valuables were stolen! She wrote me to ask for $2,250 to pay for her hotel room and travel expenses.
First, I only know one person named Patricia and she lives in Indianapolis. Haven’t seen her in about 35 years.
Second, anyone that knows m knows two large is more than I’ve ever had laying around.
Third, I didn’t fall off the truck this morning. I may have been born at night, but that doesn’t mean I’m in the dark!
I share this with you because these scams are still out there for one reason. They seems to work. Someone some where responds with cash and then has a sad story to tell.
I did respond. I replied that I was sorry for their travel woes, and I would send them some money just as soon as the check arrives from my long lost Nigerian uncle . . . . . . .
