Project Warmth Is Now Underway

United Way of Nevada County has launched Project Warmth to collect coats and socks for those in need. Drop off your donations at local locations through December 15 to support the community this holiday season.
One of the earliest signs that the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons are not too far away is Project Warmth by United Way of Nevada County, which is now underway. Executive Director Louise Reed says they have drop-off boxes set up at around 20 locations in the Western County. That includes at the radio station. She says coats tend to be the most popular donation from the public…
Socks are also items of need. Reed says donations were down a little last year but she still expects around 12-hundred to 13-hundred items…
Donations will be collected through December 15th. You can find a location nearest you through the local United Way website. Reed says distributions, also known as shopping days, will be held November 20th and December fourth, 11th, and 18th at the group’s office. It’s located at 563 Brunswick Road, Suite 11.
