Free hands-on Tech Talk classes are back, through the Nevada County Library.  County Public Information Officer, Taylor Wolfe, says the next one is at the Madelyn Helling Branch Thursday afternoon…

That’s from two to four-pm. Wolfe says the class will focus on how to protect important files, including family photos, documents, and music. Participants will also learn about external hard drives to back up files. Also, Cloud storage options and setting up automatic backups. No previous technology experience is necessary. You’re encouraged to bring your own devices to follow along or ask questions. But you need to register, through the Library’s online events calendar, with only 14 seats available. And the later this month, Wolfe says the Library is also hosting a free Adulting workshop on how to avoid scams on Friday, the 23^rd….

According to a recent Pew Research survey cited by the Library, 73-percent of Americans have experienced an online scam or attack. No registration is required for the workshop, which will be at the Grass Valley Library, from 11am to noon, on October 23^rd. And you’re also encouraged to allow extra time for parking.
