Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal has selected a person to fill the highest appointed position in his department. Sheriff Royal says he has selected Captain Joseph Salavar as his new Under Sheriff. Salavar has almost twenty years of experience with the department. The Sheriff says he has extensive experience in investigation and patrol duties.
Salavar will fill the position held by Henry Seranno who was in the position on a temporary basis. The new Under Sheriff will face challenges of a shrinking budget and reduced staffing, while still trying to provide the best possible service to the community. Salavar will begin as Under Sheriff on March 4th.
