Tax revenue for the State of California has fallen short of the estimates need in the month of March. Jacob Roper of the State Controllers Office says the revenue came in $233-Million below estimates. Roper said the Governor wanted a monthly projection of the revenue received by the Controllers office during the budget year. Roper says the next several months may make up the difference.
Roper says corporate taxes were $125-Million lower than projected and sales taxes were $25-Million lower than expected. The cash deficit from last year at $8-Billion combined with the current deficit put the total at $21.5 Billion.
