The first in a series of League of Women Voters of western Nevada County Candidates Forums was held last night at the Rood Center, and 4 of the 5 candidates for State Assembly District One attended. Rick Bosetti Republican, a former mayor and current city council member of Redding California was the only one not to make it to the forum as he was spending the day campaigning in another region of the district. The Question was asked, of the other 4 candidates, “Isn’t it time that California take the lead nationally for the legalization and taxing of marijuana?” Robert Meacher Democrat from Plumas County responds this way.

The Candidates Forum was attended by about 60 people. The next league of Women Voters Candidates Forum will feature candidates for the office of Nevada County Supervisor, District 1 and Candidates for Superior Court Judge. It will be April 30th . Candidates for the US House of Representatives will be featured in a League of Women Voters Forum May 8th.
