Yuba Net First reported a structure fire in the Collins Lake Rec area and County Road 270. The fire started as a structure (3-story building) fire on a construction site that Extended to the surrounding wild land, with a moderate rate of spread, Cal-Fire Communications officer Lynne Tolmachoff says the threat to near by structures has been mitigated for the time being but the heavy fuel load in the area is making containment difficult.

Cal-fire, Dobbins/Oregon House, Loma Rica, Washington Ridge Prison Crews and the Tahoe National forest have all contributed resources to fight the fire.
Smoke can be seen in the Browns Valley, Penn Valley, Lake Wild Wood, North San Juan, Nevada City areas. Aircraft responding include Copter 514, copter 205, airtac 460 and tanker 80.
