An inmate at the Placer County Jail died after an altercation with another inmate. A Placer County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson explains what happened.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident and will not release the name of the other inmate as charges have yet to be determined by the Placer County District attorney’s Office.
