The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an attack on a man in East Linda that left him hospitalized in critical condition. Lt. Damon Gill recalls what happened on the 1600 block of Hammonton-Smartsville road just after 11:00 when a Yuba College police officer noticed a body on the side of the road.

The officer called for emergency medical assistance and Youba County Sheriff’s deputies also arrived.
Lt. Gil believes that a suspect used a blunt object of some sort to inflict the injury.

The investigation is ongoing. A suspect has yet to be identified. Anyone with knowledge of the incident should call the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office.
