I guess vacation really is over.  I know I was here yesterday, but that first day back is different.

That first day back…everyone is glad you are back.  Why?  Because they have been doing a part of your job as well as their own, they are happy to have less work to cover again.

They may have actually missed you as well.  Your generally sunny outlook brightens their day.  Maybe.

The second day back is just another day of work.  Gone are the happy smiling faces greeting you as you come into the office, back are the usual grunts and nods of greeting.   I only hope you have a job that you enjoy as much I do mine.

By the way, I’m off on the 21st.  Not that I’m counting . . . . . . . . . .
