Governor Brown’s proposed budget for 2013-14 is a positive sign for public schools in California. Department of Finance spokesperson Nick Swietzer says the plan includes a more transparent funding process that includes money to support students most in need. The base amount per student will increase by approximately 1500 dollars per student over this year and then additional funding is added for other programs.
