Grandmothers and Grandfathers are hitting the streets of Nevada City. A campaign called The Grandmother Pledge launched election day 2012 calls for the need to have Grandparents frequent the historic downtown and interact with many of our youth.
The initial launch of The Grandmother Pledge was celebrated by 60 participants on the Boardwalk on Commercial Street. Now, a 90-minute workshop has been designed to give more people an overview of the groundbreaking program.

Grandmother Pledge Advocate, Reinette Senum, says participants interested in a deeper understanding of challenges and available solutions that exist on the streets of Nevada City are invited to attend the workshop.
Other topics covered during the workshop include: lessons learned by Hospitality House’s Outreach Coordinator, Jeffrey Dupra, Officer Shane Franssen of the Nevada City Police Department, and Homeless Representative Bill Peach.
The Grandmother Pledge Workshop is Saturday 11am -1230 PM at Nevada City Hall Council Chambers. Coffee, tea, and snacks available to participants.
