A grand theft suspect says she is sorry for her crime. Grass Valley Police began an investigation early this year into the theft of a fifty-thousand dollar tractor from a local business. Police Sergeant Steve Johnson says they identified 29 year old Kimberly Ferguson as a suspect. Police took her into custody in Sacramento in early February.

In an unusual telephone call, Ferguson contacted KNCO to say she was sorry for what she had done.  She promised to pay back the people who had suffered losses as a result of her actions.

Ferguson allegedly took the tractor and sold it to a woman in Mendocino county. She also used counterfeit money to make purchases and used false identification.  Ferguson says she is still going through the court process and has the assistance of a public defender; her sentencing is still not completed.
