A number of Nevada County residents are walking for peace, and they are doing it all month long. Mike Craig of the Hangout in Grass Valley, says people are walking to raise awareness and funds to support several non-profits in the county.

Participants get a pedometer to measure distance and collect pledges to go towards the organizations that support peaceful activities throughout the county. Craig’s goal is to have participants walk over 10,000 miles collectively for peace. Every step in every activity is measured with the pedometers. There is a group activity in the middle of the month.
