The CHP says alcohol was a contributing factor in an accident in Alta Sierra early Wednesday morning. CHP Public Information Officer Greg Tassone says a 1993 Jeep was found in a ditch on Alta Sierra Drive near Francis shortly after two in the morning. Officer Tassone says a 19 year old teen from Nevada City was found near the accident.

The driver had some minor injures and was taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital for a medical checkup before being booked into jail for suspicion of driving under the influence.
