A two vehicle accident by the Nevada County Airport required response from the California Highway Patrol as well as fire engines from Grass Valley and Nevada City firefighters yesterday around 4:30 PM. CHP Public Information Officer Greg Tassone says one vehicle turned in front of a truck traveling on Loma Rica Road.

The impact of the vehicles caused the woman driver to become trapped in her vehicle. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove a door allowing access to the injured victim. Firefighters successfully removed the victim and Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital medics and firefighters provided care until the victim was transported to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.
