A Nevada City man became upset because he was leaving his wife and she was not upset that he was leaving her.  Nevada Country Sheriff Keith Royal says a domestic violence incident was reported Sunday morning, three days after a emergency protective order had expired. The Sheriff says the victim and suspect were both at the Newtown Road home when deputies arrives. Deputies learned that 33 year old Travis Pate had become physical with the victim.

The victim and a ten year old child were able to escape the home during a lull in the physical altercation. The victim was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel. Pate was taken into custody for domestic violence.
