Nevada City Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Zion street early this morning on a report of a physical altercation. Sgt. Paul Rohde says They found 23 year old Galen Walter at the scene who advised another man had left the scene in a silver Toyota with a female driver. Grass Valley Police were notified and stopped the vehicle and noticed the man had severe injuries.

At that point Walter was arrested for assault. Sgt. Rohde says Walter gave an explanation for the attack.

Walter has been booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on charges of Great Bodily Injury with Force, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon, not a firearm.
