On Sept. 13 the Dog Bar fire broke out between Mt. Olive Rd and Taylor Crossing Rd. This fast moving fire needed all the expertise of the firefighters and a flood of equipment. Retired Fire Chief, David Ray, says the area is absent of fire hydrants and during the initial attack, water tenders providing water to the fire engines made round trips to the Alta Sierra area taking anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes. Jeff Hansen of Hansen Brothers Enterprises was checking on the status of his rock plant when he was asked for assistance.

As a water tender operator on this incident Hansen Bros not only made the driving safer for all, the turn around time to provide water was cut to a quarter of the time.
Fire crews used the property to pump water for the entire time the fire burned and the days following as clean-up took place.
Hansen Brothers have operated the rock yard for about 50 years and Jeff says its all about community.

While the firefighters are praising Hansen brothers for stepping up… Jeff Hansen returns the praise.

Chief Ray says the property owners should feel more comfortable living in that area knowing Hansen Brothers is there to assist in an emergency.
