On October 24th Nevada County Sheriff’s served a search warrant at Supervisor Terry Lamphier’s Grass Valley home. Sheriff Keith Royal in a press conference four days later disclosed that Lamphier’s office computer contained several “inappropriate”, and in Royal’s words “illegal” pictures of underage girls. Royal estimated the ages of the girls as being from six to ten, but did not elaborate on the nature of the photos. Lamphier, through a Chico-based attorney, released a statement, saying in part, He has not proactively and knowingly clicked on, visited, or downloaded any inappropriate material from websites.
But, today was the first day that Supervisor Lamphier was available to answer questions about the investigation after being absent without excuse from the Board of Supervisors meeting of October 28th. When asked about how the investigation is going Lamphier said he has no idea.*

Lamphier is still in the lead to take one of two open seats on the Grass Valley City Council following the November 4th election, which he says he plans on doing, even though Grass Valley City Council member Lisa Swarthout has publicly urged Lamphier not to join the council as his circumstances would be too much of a distraction.
