Four removal action alternatives are proposed and evaluated for Relief Hill Diggings. The recommended removal action alternative includes:
- engineering controls to reduce erosion and sediment yield,
- land use controls to reduce erosion caused by mechanized equipment and off-highway vehicle traffic
- establish the growth of soil-stabilizing vegetation and
- reduce direct human contact with contaminants.
Following this 30-day public comment period, a final decision will be made by the Pacific Southwest Region’s Regional Forester, and the decision will be documented in a Removal Action Memorandum identifying the removal action decision.
