The suspect then turned onto Old Toll Rd. which is a poorly maintained uphill dirt road and the deputy was in pursuit for about two and a half miles until the suspect vehicle turned onto another dirt road and the vehicle became stuck.

The driver, 31 year old Todd James Knipe of Camptonville was refusing to exit the vehicle and the sheriff says the deputy had to break out the windshield with his baton and pepper spray the driver in order to take him into custody. Knipe was transported to Rideout Hospital in Yuba county where he was medically cleared and booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility for evading a police officer with disregard to safety, possession of suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license.
