Two Grass Valley men ended up in jail after a traffic stop last Friday evening. The officers who arrested them were actually working on another detail.
Grass Valley Police Lt. Alex Gammelgard says the detectives were in the area of Brighton Street and Butler Street looking for possible underage drinking activity when they spotted a vehicle with numerous lighting violations and made a stop. The driver was identified as Timothy Gower of Grass Valley.
In Gower’s wallet, Detectives located approximately 1.5 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine. Upon searching the vehicle, detectives located ½ ounce of suspected tar heroin and more than 20 unused bindle baggies along with approximately ½ pound of marijuana cola, a digital scale, and paraphernalia used for the inhalation of controlled substances. Nathaniel Hubbert, a passenger in the vehicle, was also arrested after he was found to possess suspected methamphetamine, suspected heroin, two empty syringes and associated paraphernalia, as well as a glass methamphetamine pipe. Hubbert also possessed a loaded syringe which tested positive for methamphetamine. Both subjects were booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.
